Crispy garlic meets tender beef in this simple aromatic stir-fry.
Knuckle beef: 600g
1 onion (cut into wedges)
15–20 garlic cloves (peeled)
2–3 green peppercorn stems
4 bird’s eye chillies
Seasonings: seasoning granules, pepper, sugar, oyster sauce, soy sauce, chilli sauce
Cornstarch, cooking oil, butter, water
Prepare & Marinate the Beef:
Cut the beef into bite-sized cubes.
Marinate with 1 tbsp seasoning granules, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp pepper, 2 tbsp cooking oil.
Mix well, add 2 tbsp cornstarch, and let sit for 15 minutes.
Prepare the Sauce:
2.5 tbsp soy sauce
3.5 tbsp chili sauce
1 tbsp seasoning granules
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp pepper
3 tbsp water
Cooking:
Fry garlic until golden and fragrant, then remove.
Using the same oil, stir-fry beef for 10–15 seconds.
Add butter to the pan, then garlic and green peppercorns, stir-fry until aromatic. Pour in the sauce mixture and cook for 10 seconds.
Add onion and beef, stir quickly over high heat for 15 seconds.
Finally, add the fried garlic and chillies, stir for another 10–15 seconds, then remove from the heat.
